In this topic, we described about the Monitoring Background Job process in detail.
Once the job is released in the SAP system, the job runs on the specified time. The released job needs to be monitored for the job status. The job can be monitored in any status. SM37 transaction used for monitoring the status of the background job. Below are steps to monitor the background job –
Step-1: Go to SM37.
Step-2: It navigates to “Simple Job Selection”. Enter the job name that requires to monitor. Click on Execute(F8) button.
Step-3: It navigates to “Job Overview” screen. Select the Jobname and click on “Job log” button to check the job log.
Step-4: It displays the job log. Verify the job log for the status of the job.
Step-5: If the job completed successfully(Finished), Go back to the “Job Overview” Screen. Click on Spool button.
Step-6: Click on “ABAP List” to see the ABAP output.
Step-7: It displays the ABAP Output written in spool.
